It was pretty easy to fix the URL to floydbrownphotography.blogspot.com.  The old misspelled link no longer works.  Welcome back friends and family to my correctly spelled website.

I noticed I misspelled photography in the URL for this blog.  That's pretty embarrassing and why I need spell check installed in my brain!

Imagine Tuscany

I was going for a dream-like effect in this photo of a Tuscan landscape, using  post-production filters.  I do dream of going back to this beautiful area of Italy.

Generations

This picture of an elderly man (presumably the grandfather) and a young girl (presumably his granddaughter) always brings a smile to my face.  It was taken in the small Tuscan city of Montalcino, Italy.  The circle of life, the bonds between generations, and the love expressed in this photo make it special for me.

Faces from the 2013 Congo Square Music Festival, New Orleans, LA

"The Gathering," Congo Square, New Orleans, LA

"The Gathering" by Nigerian-born artist, Adewale Adenle
This is a photograph of a portion of a larger bronze, bas relief sculpture that can be viewed in Louis Armstrong Park in New Orleans.  It memorializes African slaves, who were allowed to gather at Congo Square in a celebration of life and West African Culture.  It symbolizes, to me, the resilience of a people who persevered in the face of unimaginable hardship.

Floyd Brown Photography

I am an amateur photographer very much in the learning stage of this craft. I'm sharing some of my favorite photographs for the enjoyment (hopefully) of friends, family, and colleagues.  Over time I hope you will see growth in my skills.  I especially enjoy travel photography, as it combines two of my favorite activities.  I'm also experimenting with special effects in the hopes my efforts will create artistic images of ordinary objects.
